Celebrating Dr. Bruce Fisher

Take the Fisher Divorce Adjustment Scale at www.StartRebuilding.com

A tribute to the life and work of Dr. Bruce Fisher, author of Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends and creator of the Fisher seminars, will be held on May 17. This event, Celebrating Dr. Bruce Fisher, coincides with the tenth anniversary of Fisher’s death. It is an opportunity to learn more about Fisher, share anecdotes and reflect quietly.

Nina Hart, Fisher’s widow, will lead the celebration. Fisher lived in Boulder and traveled internationally with Hart to train facilitators in the Fisher divorce recovery method. Since 1974, nearly a million people worldwide have been helped by his groundbreaking books and seminars. Today, Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends remains a top selling divorce book on Amazon and is published in 18 languages. Fisher’s Loving Choices book, co-authored by Hart, is available in 12 languages. His Fisher Divorce Adjustment Scale (FDAS) is universally recognized as a measure of adjustment to the end of a relationship. The scale is available at www.RebuildingWhenYourRelationshipEnds.com .

Following the celebration, Will Limón, MSW, will present the Rebuilding Blocks, the foundation of Fisher’s work. Limón will also discuss The Art of Loving Well from his own Learning2Relate seminar series. Limón is one of the original Fisher seminar facilitators and taught the program for 20 years. He was trained by Fisher in 1978 and became the first staff member of Fisher’s Family Relations Learning Center in Boulder.

The celebration and presentations are free and open to the public. The event begins at 1:00 pm at the Radisson Conference Center, 1850 Industrial Circle, Longmont, CO, 80501.  The Rebuilding Blocks and Art of Loving Well presentations will be recorded and attendees will receive a free copy of the DVD.

This event is sponsored by Boulder-based Divorce Seminar Center and Longmont-based Center for Health Promotion. The Divorce Seminar Center is the worldwide headquarters for teaching the Fisher divorce recovery method and also for the Fisher Divorce Adjustment Scale. The Center for Health Promotion produces Learning2Relate (www.Learning2Relate.com ). First, let me say that I am grieving. No, not for any personal tragedy… I just found out through your blog that Dr. Bruce Fisher is dead. 10 years ago, I faced the total loss of my “then life”, house, business, marriage, lifestyle, airplane, etc. and it nearly caused my physical and emotional demise. Dr. Fisher’s book was an incredible “rope” that aided so much toward my recovery. I since have given a copy to every friend who suffers through loss of love.

So… once again, I am gifting a copy of his book, “Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends” to a lovely friend of mine who’s husband cheated and broke her world and I am remembering him, although I never got to meet him.

Thanks for commenting on our blog post, Celebrating Dr. Bruce Fisher. Sounds as though you are doing much better as the result of a lot of hard work and reading Rebuilding When Your Relationship Ends.

I applaud you for giving your friend a copy of the book as well. You might suggest that she take the 100- question Fisher Divorce Adjustment Scale on http://www.DivorceSeminarCenter.com. For a limited time, the scale is free and she’ll receive her scores by email. Most people feel better after taking the test knowing they are not alone in the pain of divorce.
